Air Jordan 3 Seoul
The Air Jordan 3 “Seoul” was originally released in 2018 as a Korea-exclusive sneaker celebrating the 1988 Seoul Olympics and Michael Jordan’s iconic Slam Dunk Contest win. Designed by Tinker Hatfield and Dan Sunwoo, the shoe featured cultural details like Korean script—“서울” (Seoul) and “화합과 전진” (“Harmony and Progress”)—along with a white tumbled leather upper, elephant-print overlays, and red and blue accents from the Korean flag. In 2025, Nike is re-releasing an updated version called the “Seoul 2.0,” launching globally on May 17 with early access in NYC and Seoul. The refreshed design includes a pre-aged midsole, distressed suede overlays, white eyelets, and a quilted royal-blue collar inspired by traditional Korean hanbok. The inner tongues now display the words “꿈” (Dream) and “정” (Affection), reflecting core Korean values. With the original 2018 pair now reselling for over $1,300, the 2025 release blends legacy, storytelling, and modern design evolution.
